AF Ball Event Information 



Suggested minimum age to attend that ball is 17 lining up with our potential youngest Airman.

Child care will be available on site in the Garrison Ballroom provided by DoubleMint Sitting Management.

Purchase as an add-on through Eventbrite Purchase
$25 per child per night. Check-in will be 4:45pm (1645)

Age range: 6 months through 14 years

DoubleMint Sitting is a booking agency and does not provide food, beverage, equipment, etc.

For the Tampa Air Force Ball:

Families Utilizing Childcare:
Families provide toys, snacks, drinks with their children.
Suggest families bring any tablets or electronic devices for their children to play with.
Suggest families bring a a blanket and/or sleeping bag & pillow for older children. Pack & play for smaller kids if they expect them to fall asleep.
The Ball will provide a projector and Netflix/Amazon Prime connection for streaming videos.

Garrison Ballroom will be either divided or partially lit as the night progresses to facilitate sleeping. Older kids may stay up later for the movies. Younger children & babies plan to go to sleep.

The Ball will provide a Chick-Fil-A nugget platter or pizza for children’s dinner and a box Capri-sun fruit drinks. The Hilton will provide a water station.

The Hilton will provide a tables for food & placing children’s items and for having a craft section. If necessary, The Ball will provide coloring supplies.

The Hilton may provide linens, pillows and/or blankets as available for building sleeping pallets.

Check in starts at 1645.

All children will be picked up by 2345. If not picked up by 2345, there will be an additional $25/hr fee.

Purchasing Instructions

NOTE: Purchases can ONLY be made on a NON-GOV computer/laptop utilizing Google Chrome 31, Firefox 35, Safari 7.1 or Internet Explorer 11 and above. Do NOT use mobile devices, iPads, tablets or app for purchases.

  1. Go to website: Click on hyperlinks on menu “Tickets” or Welcome page invitation.
  2. Review Event “Description” prior to purchase.

  3. Select “TICKETS” button.
  4. Select the arrow button to the right of the Tickets & Send an Airman to the Ball (Donate) option.
  5. Select the number of seats per category.
  6. Select any additional items. Professional Digital Photos, On-site Child Care or Transportation.
  7. Once complete select “VIEW ON MAP“.
  8. Select “GOT IT“.
  9. Your seats will automatically default to the best available. Click on the selected defaulted seat(s) that appear white to deselect and choose the seat(s) you prefer.  Available seats are highlighted purple.
  10. Once seat(s) are selected it will appear as “Your Oder” on the right hand side of the screen. Update as required. The total price will be displayed at bottom of page.
  11. Select “CHECKOUT“.
  12. Review “Order Summary”.
  13. Complete Ticket Buyer, Payment, Billing Information and Ticket Information for each ticket/member attending.  Updates will be sent to the email address provided for each ticket.
  14. Select “Pay Now“.
  15. Confirmation & Ticket(s) will be emailed to the address provided for each ticket.

Ticket Purchasing Helpful Hints:

  1. HIGH RECOMMENDED:  Coordinate with the people/unit you would like to sit with and purchase seating as a group or at the same time.
  2. Be sure to deselect the defaulted non-highlighted seats before selecting your desired seat selection.
  3. Answer all questions per ticket.   Each ticket will be assigned to each member listed and confirmation emails will be sent to the to email address provided.
  4. Note: Please use the actual name that will be assigned to the ticket for seating and meal coordination.

Seating Assignments

– Table assignments are final per the EventBrite seat selection tool.  Changes will only be allowed in extenuating circumstances.

– Seating assignments are selected through the EventBrite website upon ticket purchase.  DV seats will be assigned by the Seating Committee in DV reserved tables.

– Seating charts will be available at the event, and there will be AF Ball greeters with seating information to assist you to your seat at the event.

– HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Coordinate with the people/unit you would like to sit with and purchase seating as a group or at the same time.

Hotel Rooms

There is a room block given by the Hilton Downtown at the current (Per Diem) Government rate.

Alcohol Policy

– Review the  policy on alcohol consumption and professionalism:

– Since alcohol will be served at the event, members are reminded to review AFI 1-1 paragraph 2.7 & 3.1, stating “You are responsible for exercising good judgment in the use of alcohol, and your use of alcohol must not adversely affect your duty performance or your conduct on or off duty.  Projecting a good military image reflects not only on you personally, but also on the Air Force. Appearance matters both on- and off-duty and involves more than just the clothes you wear. Projecting a professional image is paramount.”

Dress / Attire

Uniform Policy: The uniform for the Air Force Ball is Mess Dress (mandatory for officers, optional for enlisted) or Semi-Formal Dress (for enlisted not wearing Mess Dress)
– The specific requirements for the Semi-Formal Service Dress uniform can be found in AFI 36-2903 paragraph 4.6 (Males) and 4.7 (Females)
Civilian Dress: Formal Attire (Tuxedo desired, Business Suit acceptable)


– Pending interest, there will be Luxury transportation provided by a local charter service for Dorm residents and Traditional Reservists staying in Lodging with no rental vehicle.
– Pick up will be at the MacDill Inn.
– Please indicate whether you will be using transportation when purchasing your ticket.
Times will be determined once interest is determined.

– Use Fort Brooke parking garage for complimentary parking; see directions for location links. You will receive a parking
voucher upon arrival/request. The voucher will cover all the way till the next morning. You can leave your vehicle
overnight; there is NO reason to drink and drive.
– Once parked, proceed to the 3rd Floor Skywalk to the Hilton Hotel. An AF Ball greeter will welcome you to the event and hand you a complimentary parking voucher to use upon your departure.
Event Timeline & Layout

Cocktail Hour

1700 – 1830

– Begins at 5:00pm and lasts until 6:30pm;
– Limited complimentary beer and wine will be served. Cash/Credit bars will be available.
– Have a plan of action to arrive home safely before you take a single sip of alcohol!

Dinner & Event

1830 ~ 2130

– Doors Open to the Ballroom at 6:00pm for seating
– Formal Event starts at 6:30pm
– Main Courses will be served at 8:00pm
